Statin Scam Exposed: Cholesterol Drugs Cause Rapid Aging, Brain Damage And Diabetes

If you are a patient who suffers from high levels of the so called “bad” cholesterol, then you have probably been prescribed with Statins, medicament that reduces the health issues related to heart diseases and lowers the level of the harmful cholesterol.

Statins are a class of drugs often prescribed by doctors to help lower cholesterol levels in the blood. By lowering the levels, they help prevent heart attacks and stroke. Studies show that, in certain people, statins reduce the risk of heart attackstroke, and even death from heart disease by about 25% to 35%. Studies also show that statins can reduce the chances of recurrent strokes or heart attacks by about 40%.

Who Should Take Statin Drugs?

Estimates are that in addition to the people already taking them, another 15 to 20 million people should be taking statin drugs based on their risk factors for heart disease. Your doctor can do a simple blood test to determine the amount of cholesterol in your blood. If you have high levels of LDL ("bad”) cholesterol, you have a greater chance of heart disease, especially when there are other factors that increase your risk. Based on your overall risk, your doctor may recommend you take statins to help lower your cholesterol by a certain percentage.
However, not all cholesterol is bad. It's good, for instance, to have high levels of HDL ("good") cholesterol. HDL cholesterol prevents plaque buildup in the arteries by transporting the bad (LDL) cholesterol out of the blood to the liver. There, it is eliminated from the body.

What causes hemorrhoids?

Hemorrhoids are swollen veins located around the anus or in the lower rectum. About 50 percent of adults experienced the symptoms of hemorrhoids by the age of 50.
Hemorrhoids can either be internal or external. Internal hemorrhoids develop within the anus or rectum. External hemorrhoids develop outside of the anus. Hemorrhoids are also known as piles.
External hemorrhoids are the most common and most troublesome. Hemorrhoids cause pain, severe itching, and difficulty sitting. Fortunately, they are treatable.

What are the symptoms of hemorrhoids?

Symptoms of hemorrhoids include:
  • extreme itching around the anus
  • irritation and pain around the anus
  • itchy or painful lump or swelling near your anus
  • fecal leakage
  • painful bowel movements
  • blood on your tissue after having a bowel movement

Is wearing high heels shoes bad for your health?

Women love to wear high shoes as part of glamour but without our knowledge wearing high heel shoes much often has also adverse effect on our health.

According to Women's Health, here's the different part of the body affected by wearing high heel shoes.

Feet
• Normally, your feet act like spring-loaded, weight-distributing shock absorbers, cushioning your skeleton from crazy amounts of pounding. Jam these engineering marvels into high heels and. . .ouch. You've shifted much of your mass onto the balls of your feet and your tiny, delicate toe bones.

• The higher the heel, the bigger the impact: One study found that four-inch stilettos can up the amount of pressure on the front of the foot by 30 percent or more.

• Your heel-to-toe transition becomes abrupt, forcing you to swap your natural stride for a staccato walk. Strutting like this all the time could usher in bone and nerve damage (not to mention blisters and ingrown toenails).

Is using feminine wash safe?

Feminine wash products are a popular choice among women for keeping their nether regions feeling fresh and clean. Some women even assert that douching (cleaning the vaginal canal) regularly-- as frequently as everyday-- with feminine wash helps prevent the incidence and recurrence of both vaginal and urinary tract infections (UTI). Typically, feminine wash comes pre-mixed, as a combination of vinegar, water, baking soda, and iodine. Sounds innocuous enough, but how safe is it to use on a regular basis? Furthermore, are there any negative side effects for using too much of it?
According to Dr. Greg Alvior, a seasoned Ob-Gyne and president of the Philippine General Hospital (PGH) Medical Foundation, the answer to the first question depends upon the type of feminine wash being used. Not all formulations of feminine wash are the same, with some being much stronger than others in their ability to kill bacteria. Dr. Alvior states, “Some [types] are strong antiseptics, and so could cause a super infection with resistant-fungi and bacteria if used too often and too long.” In the case of a super infection, the resistant fungi and bacteria don't respond to conventional medical treatment, making it that much more difficult to manage and prevent from spreading throughout the vaginal area.
Also, keep in mind that in most cases, both good and bad bacteria can be killed by feminine wash, which could be a disadvantage, because your body needs the good bacteria. An adequate amount of good bacteria (normal vaginal flora) is needed to maintain the acidity of the vagina, which is what maintains your ability to fight and prevent infections in that region. Prolonged use of feminine wash-- especially the stronger types-- can change the acidity of your vagina, and can make you more vulnerable to infections.

Erectile dysfunction

Erectile dysfunction (impotence) is the inability to get and keep an erection firm enough for sex.
Having erection trouble from time to time isn't necessarily a cause for concern. If erectile dysfunction is an ongoing issue, however, it can cause stress, affect your self-confidence and contribute to relationship problems. Problems getting or keeping an erection also can be a sign of an underlying health condition that needs treatment and a risk factor for heart disease down the road.
If you're concerned about erectile dysfunction, talk to your doctor — even if you're embarrassed. Sometimes, treating an underlying condition is enough to reverse erectile dysfunction. In other cases, medications or other direct treatments might be needed.

Symptoms

Erectile dysfunction symptoms might include persistent:
  • Trouble getting an erection
  • Trouble keeping an erection
  • Reduced sexual desire

When to see a doctor

A family doctor is a good place to start when you have erectile problems. See your doctor if:
  • You have concerns about your erections or you're experiencing other sexual problems, including ejaculatory dysfunction, such as premature or delayed ejaculation
  • You have diabetes, heart disease or another known health condition that might be linked to erectile dysfunction
  • You have other symptoms along with erectile dysfunction

Causes

Male sexual arousal is a complex process that involves the brain, hormones, emotions, nerves, muscles and blood vessels. Erectile dysfunction can result from a problem with any of these. Likewise, stress and mental health concerns can cause or worsen erectile dysfunction.

What is Perfect White?

Perfect White is a whitening capsule that contains one of the most anti-aging ingredients in the world, L-Cysteine Peptide. L-Cysteine Peptide is one of the most advanced anti-aging and skin whitening ingredients ever discovered! According to research, it is 3-5 times MORE potent than GLUTATHIONE. Perfect White will help you look 10-20 years younger on continuous usage because of its anti-aging ingredients similar to “botox” effect.
Ingredients include:
Yeast extract (contains l-cysteine peptide), vitamin c, apple polyphenol, grape seed extract, haematococcus algae extract (contains astaxantin), lactose, cellulose, sugar fatty acid ester, fructo-oligosaccharide.

Perfect White is manufactured by AMS Life Science Co., Inc., Japan.
ACTIVE INGREDIENTS
What makes up Perfect White?

Yeast Extract
Yeast extract is the common name for various forms of processed yeast products that are used as food additives or flavorings. Yeast is recommended as a source of Vitamin B12.

L-Cysteine
L-Cysteine is a conditionally essential amino acid, one of only three sulfur-containing amino-acids, the others being taurine (which can be produced from L-Cysteine) and L-Methionine fropm which L-Cysteine can be produced in the body by a multi-step process. Cysteine plays a role in the sulfation cycle, acting as a sulfur donor in phase II detoxification and as a methyl donor in the conversion of homocysteine to methionine. Cysteine also helps synthesize glutathione, one of the body’s most important natural detoxifiers. N-acetyl-cysteine is the acetylated form of L-cysteine which is more efficiently absorbed and used.

Astaxanthin: One of Nature's Most Powerful Anti-oxidants

Astaxanthin, which is part of the carotenoid family, is thought to be the most potent antioxidant nature has to offer, and mounting research suggests it has broad-spectrum, system-wide health benefits.
It's derived from Haematococcus microalgae, which produces astaxanthin as a protective mechanism to shield the fragile algae from harsh ultraviolet (UV) light and other environmental stressors.
Astaxanthin's benefits are so numerous, I've written several articles to cover its activities, from radiation protection, to eye, brain, lung and heart health.
Other health benefits noted in a scientific review published in Molecular Nutrition and Food Research in 2011 included the prevention and treatment of: "cancers … metabolic syndrome, diabetes, diabetic nephropathy … gastrointestinal diseases, liver diseases … male infertility and HgCl₂-induced acute renal failure."
Importantly, astaxanthin is a very potent anti-inflammatory, making it useful for virtually any inflammatory condition, including joint problems such as rheumatoid arthritis, carpal tunnel syndrome and tennis elbow.
It's also been shown to improve athletic performance, in part by ameliorating exercise-induced fatigue. It has broad versatility and exceptional safety, even at extremely high doses.

What Makes Astaxanthin So Unique?

Astaxanthin is related to beta-carotene, lutein and canthaxanthin. However, its unique molecular structure makes it both more potent and unique than other carotenoids.
For example, astaxanthin has 550 times stronger antioxidant power than vitamin E, and is 6,000 times more potent than vitamin C. Other key differences that sets astaxanthin apart from other carotenoids include the following five features:
Like other antioxidants, astaxanthin donates electrons to neutralize free radicals.
However, while this free electron donation depletes most other antioxidants, astaxanthin has a massive surplus that allows it to remain active far longer — at least one order of magnitude longer than most other antioxidants.
The astaxanthin also remains intact, meaning there are no chemical reactions to break it down, which is what occurs in most other antioxidants.
Another major difference is in the number of free radicals it can handle. Most antioxidants, such as vitamins C, E and various others, can typically handle only one free radical at a time.

What is dengue and how can you protect yourself from acquiring dengue.

Dengue fever is passed on by a mosquito bit, mostly the Aedes aegypti mosquito (or “tiger mosquito”). There are four types of the dengue virus, and the infection causes a wide range of symptoms, including fever, headache, pain behind the eyes, muscle and joint pain, and rash. People infected with dengue often also experience long-term fatigue.

Dengue occasionally develops into a life-threatening form (known as severe dengue), which causes abdominal pain and vomitting, breathing difficulty and a decrease in of blood platelets that can lead to internal bleeding.

ABOUT 2.5% OF THOSE INFECTED BY SEVERE DENGUE DIE, AND THERE IS NO CURE FOR THE INFECTION.

Many people infected by the virus a first time show few or no symptoms, but they can still contribute to the transmission of the virus if bitten by a mosquito.
Having been infected once does not protect you from the virus. In many cases, the second time you get dengue, the symptoms are more severe.

WHERE IS IT?

Dengue is the fastest-growing mosquito-borne viral infection, and its impact today is 30 times greater than 50 years ago.

As recently as the 1970s, less than 10 countries had reported epidemics of severe dengue. These days, dengue is present in over 150 countries.

While most reported cases are in Latin America, Southeast Asia, and the Western Pacific, dengue also is present in many African countries. And it is spreading to Europe, as well as in the USA, and China.

Who is affected and who is most at risk?
The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that about 40% of the world’s population is at risk of being infected with dengue. All age groups are at risk.

Some Ways to Kill Head Lice

"The biggest problem today is that lice have become resistant to the over-the-counter stuff," said Anna Albano-Krosche, owner of the head lice removal salon, The Lice Lady of Westchester in Elmsford, N.Y.
Natural remedies can get rid of lice, they're just not as well studied as commercial treatments. Here are a variety of home remedies, over-the-counter, and prescription treatments used to treat head lice.
First things first: Take a deep breath and don't freak out if your child has head lice. Sure, they're gross (just talking about them can make your head itch), but they're not actually harmful to health.
It's best to approach lice as a war on many fronts: You need to use a variety of techniques to kill not only adult lice, but also their tiny eggs (called nits), which are glued to the hair shaft. The nits can survive treatments that kill the adults and vice versa (These bugs have evolved over a millennium to live in hair, so they're tricky).
It's best to steel yourself for weeks or months of vigilance since lice can reappear due to repeated exposure or a missed nit. What doesn't help is panic.
Nitpicking and combing
The gold standard for head lice removal, you'll need to do this in conjunction with almost all other treatments. First you comb hair section by section with a special comb (you can buy one at the drugstore) to remove lice and nits.
Years ago Albano-Krosche spent hours extracting nits by hand from her kids' hair. These days, she wields a fined-toothed metal comb. "It's so much quicker and cleaner and neater," she said. After a comb-through, she uses a magnification light to find and pick out any strays.
"No matter what kind of (lice-killing) product you use, the combing it the key," she said. You cannot get rid of lice until you've picked every last egg, she noted.

Getting Rid of Varicose Veins Naturally

What are varicose veins?

Varicose veins are veins under the skin of the legs, which have become widened, bulging, and twisted. They are very common and do not cause medical problems in most people. There are two main systems of veins in the legs:

  • Deep veins: The leg muscles squeeze the deep veins during walking, carrying most of the blood back up the legs to the heart.
  • Superficial veins: These occur under the skin which are less important and can form varicose veins.
All of these veins contain one-way valves to ensure that the blood flows towards the heart. Failure of these valves allows blood to flow backwards down the veins and results in an overload of pressure when standing. This excess pressure leads to widening of the veins so that they do not close properly. Blood then flows back into the leg along these veins and causes varicose veins to develop. Raised pressure in these veins also encourages the development of spider veins and discoloured areas which look like bruises.
What causes varicose veins?
Varicose veins and spider veins often run in families and there may be a hereditary component. Women are more likely to suffer from varicose veins and up to 50% of women may be affected. Hormonal factors including puberty, pregnancy, menopause, the use of birth control pills, and HRT affect the disease.

Pregnancy:  It is very common for pregnant women to develop varicose veins during the first trimester. Pregnancy causes increases in hormone levels and blood volume which in turn cause veins to enlarge. In addition, the enlarged uterus causes increased pressure on the veins. Varicose veins due to pregnancy often improve within 3 months after delivery. However, with successive pregnancies, abnormal veins are more likely to remain.
Other predisposing factors include ageing, standing for long periods of time, obesity and leg injury.

Ovarian Cancer

What Is Ovarian Cancer?

Current research suggests this cancer begins in the fallopian tubes and moves to the ovaries, the twin organs that produce a woman's eggs and the main source of  the female hormones estrogen and progesterone. Treatments for ovarian cancer have become more effective in recent years, with the best results seen when the disease is found early.

Ovarian Cancer Symptoms

Symptoms include:
  • Bloating or pressure in the belly
  • Pain in the abdomen or pelvis
  • Feeling full too quickly during meals
  • Urinating more frequently
These symptoms can be caused by many conditions that are not cancer. If they occur persistently for more than a few weeks, report them to your health care professional.

Risk Factor: Family History

A woman's odds of developing ovarian cancer are higher if a close relative has had cancer of the ovaries, breast, or colon. Researchers believe that inherited genetic changes account for 10% of ovarian cancers. This includes the BRCA1 and BRCA2 gene mutations, which are linked to breast cancer.  Women with a strong family history should talk with a doctor to see whether closer medical follow-up could be helpful.

Risk Factor: Age

The  strongest risk factor for ovarian cancer is age. It's most likely to develop after a woman goes through menopause. Using postmenopausal hormone therapy may increase the risk. The link seems strongest in women who take estrogen without progesterone for at least 5 to 10 years. Doctors are not certain whether taking a combination of estrogen and progesterone boosts the risk as well.

How to safely remove toxins from the body and avoid chronic disease naturally

After rising steadily for 50 years, the incidence of chronic degenerative conditions in the United States has now reached epidemic proportions. According to the CDC, about half of all adults living in the United States deal with one or more chronic health issues related to nutritional deficiencies and/or too many toxins.
Heart disease, cancer and autoimmune disorders are spiraling out of control. According to natural health expert Dr. Joseph Pizzorno, two words – “toxin overload” – can explain the soaring rates of chronic disease. Fortunately, on the next NaturalHealth365 Talk Hour, we’ll discuss the many steps you can take to improve the detoxification pathways in the body and avoid the unwanted consequences of disease.
New research on environmental toxins and diabetes turns medical wisdom on its head
Dr. Pizzorno, who has long sounded the alarm about the dangers of environmental toxins, warns that most Americans have high levels of pesticides, solvents, heavy metals and industrial chemicals in their bodies. Now, recent research is validating his claim that this is a major cause of disease.
For example, conventional medical ‘wisdom’ has held diet and obesity to be a major factor in the development of diabetes. But, a recent study in Environmental Health Perspective suggested that exposure to persistent organic pollutants – or POPs – may be the single most significant risk factor in the development of diabetes and obesity – a stunning departure from the conventional thought process.

Reduce excess blood sugar levels with these common herbs and spices

Don’t ignore high blood sugar levels.  According to the CDC, diabetes has reached epidemic proportions in the United States. Over 29 million Americans have the disease, while another 86 million live with prediabetes, a serious condition that can lead to full-blown diabetes.
Although modern medicine has a wide array of pharmaceutical drugs to manage diabetes, their dangerous side effects – and considerable expense – have led many to seek alternative and natural remedies. The good news: for natural blood sugar control, you may need to look no further than your own kitchen cabinet.
Read on to find out about the common herbs and spices that can decrease insulin resistance and lower blood sugar – safely and effectively.

Eliminate high blood sugar levels with basil

Basil, scientifically known as Ocimum basilicum, is valued in Mediterranean and Asian cuisine for its piquant, distinctive flavor. But this tasty herb is also an effective weapon against elevated blood sugar, reducing the absorption of glucose and preventing harmful rises in blood sugar levels.
Researchers believe basil gets much of its blood sugar-lowering powers from its content of ursolic acid and eugenol, both potent antioxidants. Basil also has diabetes-fighting anti-inflammatory effects – courtesy of its rich stores of beta-caryophyllene, a proven inhibitor of pro-inflammatory COX-2.
In one study, patients with type 2 diabetes received either a placebo or 2.5 g of dried basil leaf a day. The basil group experienced a 17.6 percent reduction in fasting blood glucose levels and a 7.3 percent decrease in postprandial, or after-meal, blood glucose levels – a very significant result.

Fenugreek offers favorable blood sugar results

Fenugreek, scientifically known as Trigonella foecum-graecum, is a time-honored herbal remedy for high blood sugar – with solid science behind it. Fenugreek seeds contain an amino acid called 4-hydroxyisoleucine – a somewhat tongue-twisting name for a beneficial substance that normalizes glucose metabolism.
In a study published in European Journal of Clinical Nutrition, study subjects with type 1 diabetes who consumed fenugreek seed powder twice a day experienced lowered fasting blood sugar levels and improved glucose tolerance, while decreasing urinary glucose output by a striking 54 percent.
Bonus: fenugreek can also decrease levels of harmful LDL cholesterol – an important factor in controlling diabetes and heart disease.  Herbalists and natural healers often advise dosages ranging from 2 to 5 grams of fenugreek seeds per day. Fenugreek can also be taken in powdered form, or brewed into a tea.

If You Want To Improve Your Overall Health, Take Care Of Your Stomach Acid First

We all have times in our lives when we get unexplained symptoms that come on either gradually or suddenly and many of us choose to ignore them in the hope they’ll just get better, or self-medicate to make them go away. While this can get rid of many short-term ailments, it puts us in the danger of failing to find out the real cause of our health problems.
Getting to the bottom of our health problems is the key to long-term well-being and quality of life. While we may just dismiss symptoms, self-diagnose and tide ourselves over with medicinal cures, there is one common underlying cause to many health problems which is often overlooked and that is having low stomach acid or alkalosis.
Many symptoms can stem from having alkalosis. Treating this source can potentially clear up many health issues someone may have but are not sure the reasons why they have them.
The Common Misconceptions about Stomach Acid
Stomach acid gets a bad reputation because we are often led to think too much acid in the body is bad. While this is true in many ways, the acid in our stomachs is vital for maintaining healthy digestive systems, breaking down our foods and passing the nutrients into our bodies as well as killing unwanted bacteria and yeast found naturally in the foods we eat. Therefore, it’s crucial for the acid levels to be just right in order to allow ourselves to be at optimal health and this is usually a pH range of approximately 1.5 to 3.0.

Why You're Losing Your Hair

Most people normally shed 50 to 100 hairs a day. This usually doesn't cause noticeable thinning of scalp hair because new hair is growing in at the same time. Hair loss occurs when this cycle of hair growth and shedding is disrupted or when the hair follicle is destroyed and replaced with scar tissue.
The exact cause of hair loss may not be fully understood, but it's usually related to one or more of the following factors:
·         Family history (heredity)
·         Hormonal changes
·         Medical conditions
·         Medications
Family history (heredity)
The most common cause of hair loss is a hereditary condition called male-pattern baldness or female-pattern baldness. It usually occurs gradually and in predictable patterns — a receding hairline and bald spots in men and thinning hair in women.
Heredity also affects the age at which you begin to lose hair, the rate of hair loss and the extent of baldness. Pattern baldness is most common in men and can begin as early as puberty. This type of hair loss may involve both hair thinning and miniaturization (hair becomes soft, fine and short).
Hormonal changes and medical conditions
A variety of conditions can cause hair loss, including:
·         Hormonal changes. Hormonal changes and imbalances can cause temporary hair loss. This could be due to pregnancy, childbirth or the onset of menopause. Hormone levels are also affected by the thyroid gland, so thyroid problems may cause hair loss.
·         Patchy hair loss. This type of nonscarring hair loss is called alopecia areata (al-o-PEE-she-uh ar-e-A-tuh). It occurs when the body's immune system attacks hair follicles — causing sudden hair loss that leaves smooth, roundish bald patches on the skin.
·         Scalp infections. Infections, such as ringworm, can invade the hair and skin of your scalp, leading to scaly patches and hair loss. Once infections are treated, hair generally grows back.

The 14 Fake Olive Oil Companies Are Revealed Now – Avoid These Brands

Extra virgin olive oil is in high demand for both culinary and medicinal purposes. However, it has been estimated that more than 70% of the supposed extra virgin olive oil in major supermarkets in the United States of America are actually fake.

What is alarming is that not less than seven major producers of olive oil in the US are known to dilute their olive oil with other oil like canola and sunflower oil, which are relatively cheap oil. This practice is corrupt and an abuse of consumer rights, as the labels of the olive oil brands produced by these companies do not indicate the presence of these other oils, but instead claim that their olive oil on offer is extra virgin olive oil, all in an attempt to boost their profit margins.
The unscrupulous practice in the U.S is reminiscent of the 2008 operation Golden Oil debacle in Italy that involved the closing down and seizure of not less than 85 supposed olive oil farms. It was discovered that these farms mixed a percentage of olive oil with sunflower, chlorophyll and canola oil. In 2012, it was found that no single extra virgin olive oil brand attained a certificate of approval.
The extra virgin olive oil scandal led to scientists from California University to carry out extensive tests on a total of 124 “extra virgin olive oil” brands imported from major producers. It was discovered that more than 70% of the “olive oil” tested came out as fake.
Here are the brands that failed the extra virgin olive oil test
  • Antica Badia
  • Bertolli
  • Carapelli
  • Colavita
  • Coricelli
  • Felippo Berio
  • Mazola
  • Mezzetta
  • Pompeian
  • Primadonna
  • Safeway
  • Sasso
  • Star
  • Whole Foods
